Social Distortion – CBGB, NYC ’92

$19.95

Here’s something to keep you entertained for an hour or more.  It’s a great quality video of an entire Social Distortion gig at the now closed, but still legendary CBGB’s all the way back in 1992!

Live at CBGB, New York City, NY; February 24, 1992. Very good soundboard. Slight hiss.

Proudly out of step with the rest of Southern California’s hardcore brigade in its early days and growling further apart with time, Fullerton singer/guitarist Mike Ness has led his influential group through a fitful career of turbo-charged roots rock that was ironically vindicated when Social Distortion was recognized as the sonic template for some of the bands that broke California punk-pop into the big time in 1994. – The Trouser Press Guide To ’90s Rock (1997)

On the road to promote Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell (released in February 1992), this was one of the group’s best-selling albums and the last to feature drummer Christopher Reece, who left the band in 1994.

Posted at jack.mauveweb.co.uk: “One of the better-sounding Social Distortion boots… There’s a small amount of analogue hiss, but the vocals and instrumentation are all very crisp and clear in the mix. A typically energetic performance, with one of the best versions of Ring Of Fire.”
